TOP 10 TED TALKS

TED is a non-profit organization dedicated to spreading inspiring and powerful videos to shift your consciousness with "Ideas Worth Spreading."

TED Talks are remarkable videos from influential experts in various genres from all over the world. I have listed the top 10 picks I highly recommend everyone to watch.

10. Secrets of success in 8 words, 3 minutes | Richard St. John

"When you want to succeed as much as you want to breathe, then you'll be successful." - Anonymous

This is the first video I have ever watched on TED. I remember binge watching on YouTube in search for influential and inspiring videos. The only person stopping you, is yourself.

9. Why we do what we do | Tony Robbins

"Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible." - Tony Robbins

Decision is the ultimate power, because it shapes your destiny. This video will teach you what the defining factors of your life are. People often overlook why they do what they do and just become part of a cycle and feel stuck. Watch this video to get the drive you need to unlock more achievements and goals. Why we do what we do is important, because your intention determines the result you will receive.

8. Do schools kill creativity? | Sir Ken Robinson

Schools have turned education into a system that is complexed with little room for creativity. As a child, if you are not prepared to be wrong, you will never come up with anything original. By the time children become adults, their creative capacities is almost lost and they become frightened to be wrong. "Mistakes" are stigmatized and becomes the worst thing you can do in an educational system.

7. How Great Leaders Inspire Action | Simon Sinek

"People follow what they believe." - Zashery

This video will teach you that inspiring others take more than just an idea. Sinek discovered the patterns that all the great leaders and inspiring organizations in the world have, they all communicate the same. The idea is called the golden circle: What. How. Why. The most important one is WHY. "People do not buy what you do, is why you do it. The goal is to do business with people that believe what you believe." - Sinek

6. Your body language may shape who you are | Amy Cuddy

Body language affects how others see us, but it may also change how we see ourselves. Social psychologist Amy Cuddy argues that "power posing" — standing in a posture of confidence, even when we don't feel confident — can boost feelings of confidence and might have an impact on our chances for success. This video has made me realize how powerful body language is and how a simple posture can transform your inner self.

5. The Person you Really Need to Marry | Caroline McHugh

"Your greatest love story is the one you have with yourself. " - Vincent Van Gogh

This is the video where I heard the famous quote: "Life does not give you what you've asked for. It gives you the people, places & situations that allow you to develop what you ask for." It made all the sense in the world! Everything that happens in your life is not a coincidence. No matter how bad you might think the situation was, it was meant to happen in order for you to grow mentally. If you didn't learn... life will give it to you again and again, until you get it.

4. My Stroke of Insight | Jill Bolte Taylor

My Stroke of Insight is one of the most interesting stories I have ever heard of in my life. This is a powerful story about how our brains define us and connect us to the world and to one another. Everything we do is completely up to us and we choose to either live a peaceful life or life of chaos. I have watched this video several times as a reminder.

3. How to stop screwing yourself over | Mel Robbin

"The secret of success is learning how to use pain and pleasure instead of having pain and pleasure use you. If you do that, you’re in control of your life. If you don’t, life controls you." - Anonymous

Studies show that 1 out 3 Americans feel dissatisfied with their lives right now; that is over 100 million people! This is a remarkable video explaining that getting what you want is simple, but we just do nothing about it. We live in the best moment in life: where you can walk into a bookstore and learn exactly how to do it or just simply google every step to transform. It all comes down to your mind! If you tell yourself, you cannot, you will not.

2. The Art of Being Yourself | Caroline McHugh

"People who are afraid of being themselves will work for those who aren't afraid." - Caroline McHugh

This video taught me that we are all a miracle. How? Well, the chances of anyone being born is 1 in 400 trillion! No one in this world can be reborn with our fingerprints, meaning that no one can be better at being you than yourself. Therefore, you should follow your purpose and stop worrying about what others think of you. Let them deal with those thoughts on their own. I have learned how to tap into my inner voice to follow my dreams.

1. Stanford Commencement Speech 2005 | Steve Jobs

“Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people's thinking." - Steve Jobs

Even though this video is a commencement speech, it has been posted on www.ted.com and I understand why. I watched this video years ago and I still do until this day. It has taught me to not be scared of trial and error, because that is exactly what will bring you to success. This video will teach you to not be a quitter and inspire you to go pass your mind 'limit.' (R.I.P. Steve Jobs)
